What is a Border Number?
A Border Number (رقم الحدود) is a unique identification number issued by Saudi immigration authorities when a foreign national enters the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This number is essential for completing various government procedures before obtaining an Iqama (residency permit).
Why is the Border Number Important?
Your Border Number is required for:
- Iqama processing
- Medical insurance registration
- Government services and online applications
- Employment-related procedures
- Tracking residency status
How to Find Your Border Number
1. Check Your Passport
When you enter Saudi Arabia, immigration officers may write or stamp your Border Number on your passport or visa page. Carefully review all entry stamps and notes in your passport.
2. Check Online Through Absher
If you cannot locate your Border Number in your passport, you can use Saudi government online services to retrieve it.
Steps:
- Visit the Absher portal.
- Select the Border Number inquiry service.
- Enter the required details, such as passport number and nationality.
- Submit the information to view your Border Number.
3. Contact Your Employer or Sponsor
For workers arriving on employment visas, your employer, HR department, or sponsor (Kafeel) can usually provide your Border Number, as it is required for processing your Iqama.
